a Modern Jungle Treehouse

Nestled in the tranquil and picturesque Tasman Region, where rugged mountain ranges meet sandy shores, you'll discover Ligar Bay. At the pinnacle of the South Island, a newly built gem awaits - the We Wabi house. With Liz's eye for detail and every piece of timber thoughtfully placed and nailed by Mark, this home was a labor of passion. For Mark, with deep family roots in the region, it became a profoundly personal project. Embodying the essence of a Modern Jungle Treehouse, the We Wabi house boasts a soulful interior. Every aspect of its construction was thoughtfully planned, using locally sourced materials like low carbon Golden Bay cement and plantation-grown timber, ensuring a small environmental footprint.

A Luxurious Retreat

The modern jungle tree house aesthetic comes to life through captivating design elements in each pavilion. Timber, polished plaster, exposed off-shutter concrete, accents of black steel, brass and recycled driftwood intertwine, imparting distinct character to every space.

On the lower main levels, raw beauty abounds with distressed macrocarpa ceilings, evoking a sense of rustic charm. The carefully curated joinery and furniture exude a sub-tropical allure, inviting you to unwind and bask in absolute comfort.

Ascending to the upper private spaces, a refined ambiance embraces you, featuring polished plaster walls and floors. The interplay of depth and warmth create an inviting atmosphere that beckons you to experience serenity and comfort. And as the sun sets, the panoramic views of Ligar Bay grace the We Wabi house, making it a truly unforgettable destination.
